Tyree completed his undergraduate degree at Arizona State University where he was a wrestler and then he went on to The University of Oklahoma where he earned his master's degree. Tyree is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but spent most of this time in Arizona and Oklahoma after high school. He loves taking in the Vitamin D in the Grand Canyon State!

Although the idea was introduced through his family, Tyree didn’t necessarily think about entering the flooring service industry from a young age. He was in education before exploring the different types of sales positions and he even thought of becoming a wrestling coach or an athletic director. And even though the flooring industry hasn’t always been in his background, Tyree’s experiences in education had set him up for success.

Tyree wanted a change and after speaking with our CEO Dan Davis, he believed in the support and growth that can happen with Sterling Services. Tyree has some experience working at SaniGLAZE, but once he met with the Sterling team in Arizona, he knew it would be a great spot for him. 

Between his time in education and logistics, Tyree’s previous job experience helped force him to develop soft skills to connect with different audiences, identify needs, and connect them with the appropriate solution. He was always taught to have a solution-driven approach to help customers reach their goals while building trust. 

When Tyree started at Sterling Services in Arizona, he was working as a technician with Mike. “Fortunately for me, we were able to click immediately and he trusted me to do some of the work. I learned a lot that day and was able to build trust and respect between me and Mike,” said Tyree.

Tyree loves to hunt and connect with his friends and family about his hobby. Him joining something with such a deep tradition and to build memories with the people he is closest to is one of his favorite experiences.
